Canadian Solar Inc.'s (CSIQ) subsidiary, Recurrent Energy, has inaugurated operations of the 127 MWdc Bayou Galion Solar project located in Morehouse Parish, Northeast Louisiana. This project, which represents a $160 million investment, began commercial operations in November 2024 and is capable of powering approximately 20,500 homes annually.

The Bayou Galion Solar project marks Recurrent Energy's first commercial venture in the state of Louisiana. By the end of 2024, the cumulative solar investments in Louisiana surpassed $2 billion, signifying substantial growth driven by increasing electricity demands from regional industries and data centers.

MUFG acted as the Coordinating Lead Arranger for the project financing, while Primoris Renewables Energy completed the construction with support from local vendors. The project not only generates clean energy but also provides significant tax revenue for the local community, contributing to the region's economic growth and energy infrastructure development.

Recurrent Energy's successful commissioning of Bayou Galion Solar underlines its expansion into new geographic markets, enhancing Canadian Solar's asset portfolio. This project fits within broader trends of renewable infrastructure expansion into regions with growing industrial electricity needs, aligning with Louisiana's energy transition and diversification goals.
