Ford Motor Company (F, Financial) has decided to suspend exports of certain models to China in response to a substantial increase in tariffs. This move affects the shipping of their popular F-150 Raptors, Mustang muscle cars, and Bronco SUVs, which are manufactured in Michigan, as well as Lincoln Navigators produced in Kentucky.

The decision follows China's recent retaliatory measures to U.S. import duties, resulting in tariffs on these vehicles soaring to as much as 150%. A spokeswoman for Ford acknowledged the adjustment in their export strategy, citing the current tariff situation as the driving factor behind this decision.

While the export of these vehicles to China accounts for a minor part of Ford's overall operations, it remains a profitable segment. The company will likely continue to monitor the situation closely as trade tensions between the U.S. and China evolve.
