Walmart Inc. (WMT) has officially opened a new 1-million-square-foot distribution center in Jacksonville, Florida, located at 1511 Zoo Parkway. This state-of-the-art facility aims to enhance logistics efficiency by servicing 25 Sam's Club locations, including 18 across Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, as well as seven locations in Puerto Rico. Strategically positioned just 10 minutes from the Port of Jacksonville, the center will facilitate the distribution of imported goods to four Southeast distribution centers.

The new Jacksonville distribution center is set to create 250 new jobs, offering full-time associates comprehensive benefits such as medical, vision, and dental insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, an associate stock purchase plan, and access to company-paid education through Walmart's Live Better U program.

During the grand opening ceremony, Walmart demonstrated its commitment to community engagement by awarding $5,000 grants to Keep Jacksonville Beautiful and the Police Athletic League of Jacksonville. This initiative is part of a larger philanthropic effort, as in fiscal year 2024, Walmart, Sam's Club, and the Walmart Foundation donated more than $122 million in product donations and grants across Florida.
