Cineverse (CNVS) and its horror division, Bloody Disgusting, have commenced production on the reboot of the holiday horror classic, "Silent Night, Deadly Night," in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The film is scheduled for release on December 12, 2025, and stars Ruby Modine as Pamela and Rohan Campbell as protagonist Billy Chapman, with direction by Mike P. Nelson.
This project reunites the original 1984 film's producers, Scott Schneid and Dennis Whitehead, with a new creative team, aiming to bring a fresh take on the classic. The original version became infamous in 1984 after being pulled from theaters due to public outcry, a move that ultimately helped it achieve cult classic status.
Distribution outside North America will be managed by Sixth Dimension, StudioCanal's new genre label. The project is financially supported by Bondit Media Capital and the Royal Bank of Canada. Cineverse's Chief Content Officer, Yolanda Macias, expressed excitement about the collaboration, highlighting the fusion of the 1984 classic's original team with Mike P. Nelson's new vision.
With filming underway, the production is set to deliver a reimagined experience of "Silent Night, Deadly Night" that is expected to capture the essence of the original while offering a new perspective that horror fans won't soon forget.
