South Bow (SOBO, Financial) has successfully resumed operations of the Keystone Pipeline following approval from the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration. This comes after the company addressed an oil spill incident at Milepost 171 near Fort Ransom, North Dakota, on April 8, 2025.

In response to the incident, South Bow swiftly conducted repairs and replaced the affected section of the pipeline. The company managed to recover a significant portion of the approximately 3,500 barrels of oil spilled and is actively working on soil remediation efforts. Ensuring the safety of personnel and minimizing environmental impact remain top priorities for South Bow.

The company's ongoing site cleanup operations are supported by continuous air quality monitoring, which has consistently shown no signs of health or public safety risks.
