Comcast Corporation (CMCSA, Financial) has announced a new initiative under its Representation, Investment, Strength and Empowerment (RISE) program to support 100 small businesses in Nashville. This initiative is part of the company's $1 billion Project UP commitment, which aims to foster digital inclusion and promote economic mobility for entrepreneurs and creators.

The grant packages will include a technology makeover, featuring computer equipment and internet services, a creative production and media service package with a professionally produced 30-second TV commercial, and a media strategy consultation. Additionally, recipients will gain 12-month access to online entrepreneurship courses and resources, a $5,000 monetary grant, and business coaching sessions designed to help business owners grow their ventures.

Nashville is one of five U.S. regions selected for this initiative, alongside Boston, Grand Rapids, Seattle, and South Valley. Overall, 500 small businesses across these areas will benefit, adding to the 14,000 entrepreneurs who have been supported since the program's inception in 2020.

Applications for the RISE grant will be open from May 1 to May 31, 2025, via Comcast RISE website. This announcement highlights Comcast's long-standing commitment to Nashville, where the company has invested over $9.5 million in digital inclusion initiatives over the last three years, connecting more than 680,000 low-income residents to the Internet through its Internet Essentials program.

"This program will uplift our small business community, drive economic growth, and ensure that opportunities extend to every corner of our city," said Nashville Mayor Freddie O'Connell.
