Snowflake (SNOW, Financial) and Enterprise Strategy Group have released the global research report "Radical ROI of Generative AI," drawing insights from 1,900 business and IT leaders across nine countries. Findings reveal that 92% of early AI adopters have seen a positive return on investment, with an average return of $1.41 for every dollar spent.

The study indicates a strong future for AI investment, as 98% of respondents plan to increase their AI investments in 2025. However, the report highlights significant challenges in AI implementation, with 58% of organizations struggling to make their data AI-ready. Key issues include data integration (64%), governance enforcement (59%), and quality monitoring (59%).

Regionally, Australia and New Zealand report the highest returns on AI investments at 44%, followed by the United States and Canada, both at 43%. In contrast, Japan and France trail with returns of 30% and 31%, respectively. These variations suggest differences in AI maturity and strategic implementation across regions.

The research underscores the importance of proprietary data in AI initiatives, with 80% of respondents fine-tuning AI models using their proprietary data, despite 71% acknowledging the need for multi-terabyte datasets for effective model training.

Snowflake's positioning as a key player in AI data infrastructure is strengthened by these findings, as it emphasizes the need for data platforms to support AI readiness. More than 4,000 customers regularly use Snowflake for AI and machine learning tasks, underscoring the company's significant market traction.
