Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (J) has been awarded a $137 million contract by the Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority. The contract is for program management services as part of the "Rebuild USVI" initiative, which aims to restore critical infrastructure devastated by hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017.

Under this three-year agreement, Jacobs will manage various simultaneous projects across St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John, focusing on hospitals, schools, transit corridors, as well as power, water, and wastewater utilities. The company will work alongside the U.S. Virgin Islands' Super Project Management Office, ensuring the effective use of the territory's $23 billion in federal funding.

Ron Williams, Executive Vice President of Jacobs, emphasized the importance of rebuilding the islands' infrastructure to support the near 90,000 residents and sustain the tourism-driven economy. Jacobs will also provide advisory and consulting services, addressing future project planning, environmental management, logistics, and workforce challenges as part of their contractual obligations.

Ranked as the top program management firm by Engineering News-Record, Jacobs leverages extensive experience in disaster recovery, particularly evident through their previous work in Puerto Rico and with FEMA in the U.S. Adrienne Williams-Octalien, Director of the Office of Disaster Recovery, highlighted Jacobs' selection due to their responsiveness and proven track record, reflecting the initiative's commitment to developing a resilient community.

Jacobs aims to deliver outcomes for complex global challenges with around $12 billion in annual revenue and a workforce of approximately 45,000. The company offers comprehensive services across sectors such as advanced manufacturing, energy, and transportation, contributing to a more connected and sustainable future.
