Nelnet Business Services, a division of Nelnet, Inc. (NNI), has announced its acquisition of Next Gen Web Solutions, a software provider based in Jacksonville, FL, that specializes in solutions for the higher education market. The acquisition will see Next Gen integrated into the Nelnet Campus Commerce business line, under the leadership of President Jackie Strohbehn.

With over 18 years of experience, Next Gen has developed a loyal customer base, having served more than 20 million students through its suite of software solutions. These solutions include form building, financial aid exception processing, verification, scholarship management, and work-study administrative support, which are aimed at streamlining administrative processes for educational institutions.

Jackie Strohbehn commented on the acquisition, stating, "The integration of Next Gen into Nelnet Campus Commerce allows us to expand our offerings and support the needs of higher education institutions more comprehensively. This move not only diversifies our revenue streams but also strengthens our position in the education sector through shared client relationships."

Nelnet Campus Commerce currently serves nearly 1,000 colleges and universities, providing advanced payment solutions that are PCI Level 1 validated and compatible with leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. The acquisition of Next Gen positions Nelnet to better address evolving customer needs and forge new partnerships within the education market.
