Volatus Aerospace (TAKOF, Financial) has announced a one-year extension to its standing offer with Public Works and Government Services Canada, allowing the company to continue delivering UAV services to Canadian government departments up to March 31, 2026. This extension represents the maximum permissible duration under the current agreement. Initially, Volatus became the first UAV service provider included in Canada's National Master Standing Offer back in November 2020.
The extension coincides with the recent introduction of new amendments to the Canadian Aviation Regulations, marking a significant step forward for the UAV industry. Volatus remains well-positioned to capitalize on these changes due to its ability to conduct operations in all five service streams identified in the NMSO: Media, Agriculture, Forestry and Fire Fighting, Infrastructure and Real Property, and Security and Emergency Response.
Additionally, the new Beyond Visual Line-of-Sight (BVLOS) regulations, effective November 4, 2025, will allow the company to perform routine operations beyond visual line-of-sight, extended visual line-of-sight, and sheltered operations. Volatus’ Canada-wide night-time BVLOS operation authority, announced on March 26, further augments its service capabilities, enhancing the company's operational scope significantly. This combination of regulatory advancements and service capabilities sets Volatus apart in the industry, providing comprehensive and unparalleled UAV services across Canada.
