Centene Corporation (CNC, Financial) announced that its Nevada subsidiary, SilverSummit Healthplan, has been awarded a five-year Medicaid managed care contract by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services. The contract will begin on January 1, 2026, with a potential two-year extension. This development marks a substantial expansion of Medicaid Managed Care into rural and frontier service areas that were previously fee-for-service.

SilverSummit Healthplan, which has served over 100,000 members in Nevada since 2017, will continue to provide comprehensive services including primary care, telehealth, pharmacy, and maternal and behavioral health services. The initiative is expected to strengthen local care delivery by expanding provider networks and empowering local care organizations in rural and frontier counties.

In addition, Ambetter from SilverSummit HealthPlan was chosen as one of three providers for Nevada's marketplace public option, the Battle Born State Plan (BBSP). This five-year contract, also starting on January 1, 2026, is anticipated to serve 16,000 individuals within its first year, with a possible two-year extension.
