Motorola Solutions (MSI) has launched the APX N70 XE smart radio, tailored specifically for firefighters and emergency medical services (EMS) personnel operating in challenging environments. As a Project 25 (P25) single-band radio, it combines mission-critical voice communications with smart data applications, enhancing the safety and efficiency of first responders.

Key features of the APX N70 XE include ViQi, an AI-voice assistant enabling hands-free control, and SmartConnect, which allows for seamless broadband switching when outside traditional radio coverage. This ensures continuous connectivity in smoke-filled and noisy settings. The radio also supports SmartIncident for critical incident information sharing, SmartLocate for continuous location updates, SmartMessaging for multimedia sharing, and SmartMapping for crew location visualization.

Designed to fit the rugged build of the APX XE series, the APX N70 XE boasts a slim form factor suitable for use with gloved hands. The smart radio will be on display at the FDIC International event in Indianapolis from April 10-12, 2025, providing an opportunity for firsthand experience of its capabilities to potential users and decision-makers in public safety.
