Manulife Financial Corporation (MFC) has announced a pivotal change in its leadership team with the appointment of Stephanie Fadous as Chief Actuary, starting on May 9, 2025. Fadous, who currently serves as the Global Treasurer and Head of Capital Management, will take over the role from Steve Finch as he steps into his new position as President and CEO of Manulife Asia. Fadous will join the Executive Leadership Team and will report to Phil Witherington, the upcoming President and CEO of Manulife.
Stephanie Fadous brings an extensive background in financial services to her new role, with significant contributions to Manulife's global rollouts of IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 accounting standards. Her previous posts within Manulife include roles in Global Finance, Group Actuarial, Corporate Development, and Asset Liability Management. Fadous holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science and is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries.
Alongside Fadous' appointment, Manulife has also expanded Hung Ko's responsibilities, promoting him to Global Head of Treasury and Investor Relations. Previously, Ko served as the Global Head of Investor Relations, boasting over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. He holds an MBA from McGill University, in addition to being a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
