Anthropic has introduced a new Max subscription plan for its Claude chatbot, priced at $100 or $200 per month based on usage. This plan significantly increases the number of queries users can send compared to the existing $18 per month Pro plan. The $100 plan allows for five times more queries, while the $200 plan offers twenty times more. Typically, Pro users can send at least 45 messages within five hours.
Similar to other AI companies, Anthropic is encouraging both individuals and businesses to pay for its software to offset the high costs of developing advanced AI models. This new subscription is akin to OpenAI's $200 monthly plan for ChatGPT, which provides unlimited access to its most powerful AI models.
Max plan subscribers will benefit from more comprehensive query responses and prioritized request handling during peak traffic times. Additionally, they will receive early access to new AI models and software features. Anthropic's latest model, Claude 3.7 Sonnet, offers users the choice between quick answers or more detailed, human-like reasoning responses, potentially giving the company a competitive edge.
In March, Anthropic secured $3.5 billion in funding, reaching a valuation of $61.5 billion, reinforcing its position as one of the largest startups globally.
