Cummins Inc. (CMI) has announced the appointment of John Gaidoo as Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, set to begin on June 1. Gaidoo takes over from Nicole Lamb-Hale, who will transition to become the Chief Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary. This pivotal announcement continues Cummins’ tradition of promoting experienced internal candidates, ensuring continuity and stability within the company’s leadership.

John Gaidoo, a veteran of 14 years at Cummins and a former United States Marine Corps member, joined the company as a labor and employment lawyer in 2011. His tenure at Cummins has been marked by significant contributions, such as establishing the Crisis Action Management Plan in 2012, leading the global Labor Relations team from 2018, and acting as the lead lawyer for the COVID-19 Risk Management Team in 2020. Gaidoo’s expertise encompasses intellectual property, labor and employment law, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, procurement, and regulatory compliance, all crucial areas for Cummins’ business operations.

As Chief Legal Officer, Gaidoo will oversee the company’s global Legal function and will be an integral member of the Cummins Leadership Team. His responsibilities will include working with business and functional leaders to promote and implement the company’s strategic priorities. Prior to Cummins, Gaidoo practiced law at Baker & Daniels LLP in Indianapolis and holds degrees from Indiana University.
