Intel (INTC, Financial) has successfully completed the sale of its NAND memory technology and manufacturing business to SK hynix, generating approximately $1.9 billion from the transaction's final phase. This follows an earlier agreement where SK hynix acquired Intel's NAND fabrication facility in China and related assets. The entire deal, valued at around $9 billion, has now concluded. As part of this, the agreement allowing Intel to produce NAND wafers at SK hynix's facility has been terminated. The development positions SK hynix as a leading supplier of High Bandwidth Memory chips, with Samsung and Micron Technology trailing.
