Evergy, Inc. (EVRG, Financial), along with its subsidiaries Evergy Kansas Central, Inc. and Evergy Metro, Inc., has announced the promotion of Matt Gummig to the position of Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer, and principal accounting officer, effective April 2, 2025. This decision was made by Evergy's Board of Directors on March 24, 2025.
Mr. Gummig, who has been serving as Interim Controller and Chief Accounting Officer since December 1, 2024, will continue to hold these positions across the Evergy group, including Evergy Kansas Central and Evergy Metro. His promotion comes with a comprehensive compensation package as outlined in an offer letter with the company.
In addition to his new role, Evergy has entered into an indemnification agreement with Mr. Gummig, consistent with agreements made with other officers, providing indemnification to the extent allowed under Missouri law. Notably, Mr. Gummig will not receive separate compensation for his services at Evergy’s subsidiaries.
Mr. Gummig's background and business experience were previously detailed in Evergy's Form 8-K filed on November 8, 2024. There are no additional arrangements or understandings between Mr. Gummig and any other person regarding his selection as an officer, nor are there any related person transactions with Evergy.
