DexCom, Inc. (DXCM, Financial) has announced a significant change in its independent auditing firm. On March 21, 2025, the Audit Committee of DexCom's Board of Directors decided to dismiss Ernst & Young LLP (EY) as the company's independent registered public accounting firm. This decision comes after EY's audit reports for the fiscal years ending December 31, 2024, and December 31, 2023, which did not contain any adverse opinions or disclaimers and were not qualified or modified regarding uncertainty, audit scope, or accounting principles.
Importantly, during the two most recent fiscal years and the interim period leading up to the dismissal, there were no disagreements between DexCom and EY on any accounting principles, financial statement disclosures, or auditing procedures. Additionally, there were no reportable events that would have necessitated EY to reference any disagreements in their reports.
Following the dismissal of EY, DexCom's Audit Committee has approved the engagement of Deloitte & Touche LLP as the new independent registered public accounting firm for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2025. Prior to this engagement, neither DexCom nor its representatives consulted Deloitte on any accounting principles, audit opinions, or financial reporting issues.
This transition marks a new chapter for DexCom as it continues to uphold its commitment to financial transparency and integrity. The company has ensured that all regulatory requirements have been met in this transition, including obtaining a letter from EY confirming their agreement with the statements made by DexCom regarding the change in auditors.
