MSHA Issues Imminent Danger Order; No Injuries Reported

On March 19, 2025, Vulcan Construction Materials, LLC, a subsidiary of Vulcan Materials Company (VMC, Financial), received an imminent danger order from the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) at its Liberty Quarry in Liberty, South Carolina. The order, issued under section 107(a) of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977, highlighted safety concerns regarding two employees working in the scalping screen of a tower without adequate fall protection.

Following the issuance of the order, a significant and substantial citation under section 104(a) was also issued. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
