Yum Brands, the parent company of Taco Bell, KFC, and Pizza Hut, has announced a strategic partnership with tech giant NVIDIA (NVDA, Financial) to accelerate the use of artificial intelligence in its restaurants. This collaboration will enable Yum Brands to introduce AI-driven ordering services, NVIDIA-powered computer vision technology, and AI-based restaurant performance evaluations.
This marks NVIDIA's first partnership with a restaurant company and signifies a strategic shift for Yum Brands. Previously, Yum Brands expanded its internal tech operations through various acquisitions, which are now integrated into its Byte platform. The company has already piloted NVIDIA's technology in select Pizza Hut and Taco Bell locations.
The rollout of this AI technology is expected to expand to over 500 Yum Brands restaurants in the second quarter.
