Cigna Group (CI, Financial), a leading health insurance company based in Bloomfield, Connecticut, has announced significant changes to its senior leadership team. The company stated that Brian Evanko, currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer and President and CEO of Cigna's Medicare business, will be appointed as the Group President and Chief Operating Officer. This transition will be effective from March 31.
In his new role, the 48-year-old Evanko will oversee all business lines, including Evernorth Health Services. Meanwhile, Eric Palmer, the current President and CEO of the Evernorth division, will be departing the company at the end of April after more than 25 years of service.
Additionally, Cigna has appointed Ann Dennison as the new Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Evanko. Dennison has been with Nasdaq as the CFO since early 2021 and joined Cigna as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer at the beginning of last year.
