Ford Motor (F, Financial) is recalling 240,510 vehicles in the U.S. due to a potential seat belt defect, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced Friday.

The recall affects certain 2020-2021 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator models, where seat belt buckle anchor bolts may not be properly secured. A loose or improperly fastened bolt could reduce seat belt effectiveness, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

As a remedy, Ford dealers will inspect the affected vehicles and replace components as needed at no cost to owners.

This marks Ford's latest safety recall as automakers continue to address compliance with federal safety regulations.
