Alibaba (BABA, Financial) rose by 2.16% in pre-market trading, reaching $102.55. The company recently integrated DeepSeek AI models into its DingTalk platform, allowing users to choose from models like R1 and V3 when creating AI assistants. This enhancement includes new templates to facilitate the seamless creation and deployment of AI assistants based on DeepSeek models.

Additionally, a team of researchers from Stanford University and the University of Washington reportedly trained an AI model named s1 at a cost of under $50 in cloud computing fees. The s1 model's performance in math and coding tests rivals leading models such as OpenAI's O1 and DeepSeek's R1. Investigation revealed that the s1 model's training was not from scratch; it used Alibaba's Qwen model as its foundational base.
