T-Mobile US, Inc. (TMUS, Financial) has announced the appointment of Srinivasan Gopalan as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective March 1, 2025. This strategic leadership change is expected to bolster the company's operational capabilities as it continues to expand its market presence.

Mr. Gopalan's appointment comes with a comprehensive employment agreement that includes an annual base salary of $1,000,000 and a short-term cash incentive targeted at no less than $2,000,000, contingent upon achieving pre-established performance goals. Additionally, he will receive employee benefits similar to those provided to T-Mobile's senior executives, along with company-paid tax preparation and financial planning services for 2025 and 2026, capped at $50,000 per year.

To facilitate his transition, T-Mobile will provide relocation assistance for Mr. Gopalan's move to Bellevue, Washington, and cover first-class airfare for him and his family for two years, capped at 32 round-trip flights. He is also eligible for a one-time cash sign-on payment of $2,000,000, subject to certain conditions.

Mr. Gopalan will receive annual long-term incentive awards with a target value of at least $9,500,000. As part of his commencement package, he will be granted restricted stock units (RSUs) under the T-Mobile 2023 Incentive Award Plan, compensating for any forfeited phantom share awards from his previous employer, Deutsche Telekom AG.

The agreement outlines provisions for termination, including severance benefits if Mr. Gopalan's employment is terminated without cause or if he resigns for good reason. In the event of his death or disability, specific benefits are also detailed.
