Rivian, an emerging player in the U.S. automotive sector, is planning to introduce an advanced autonomous driving system similar to Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD). The company aims to achieve a "hands-free" driving experience by 2025 and an "eyes-free" experience by 2026, enhancing convenience and intelligence for Rivian vehicle owners.

Currently, Rivian's pickup trucks are equipped with the "Driver Plus" advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS), which functions similarly to Tesla's standard Autopilot software. This system allows for lane-keeping and automatic acceleration/deceleration on highways, though drivers must remain attentive, as is typical with other Level 2 systems.

Rivian plans to equip its second-generation models, produced after 2025, with a proprietary autonomous driving platform. These vehicles will feature upgraded hardware, including a tenfold increase in computing power and eightfold enhancement in camera resolution, providing a 360-degree panoramic view. Additionally, the system will include blind spot monitoring and highway assist, with the potential to upgrade for lane change and enhanced highway assist functions.

Rivian's vision for autonomous driving is set to revolutionize the driving experience, offering significant advancements in safety and convenience for its users.
