Microsoft (MSFT, Financial) has integrated AI capabilities into its Microsoft 365 suite and announced a price increase, the first since the subscription service debuted 12 years ago. The tech giant revealed the addition of the Copilot AI assistant to key applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote. This enhancement is available to Microsoft 365 users, enhancing their productivity tools with AI features.
In conjunction with these upgrades, Microsoft is adjusting the pricing for its subscription plans. The Microsoft 365 Personal plan will see a price increase from $6.99 per month and $69.99 per year to $9.99 per month and $99.99 per year. Similarly, the Microsoft 365 Family plan, which accommodates up to six users, will rise from $9.99 per month and $99.99 per year to $12.99 per month and $129.99 per year. As of the end of the third quarter last year, Microsoft reported having 84.4 million Microsoft 365 consumer subscribers.
