Microsoft (MSFT) Integrates AI in Microsoft 365 and Raises Subscription Prices

Microsoft (MSFT, Financial) has announced the integration of AI tools into its Microsoft 365 suite while simultaneously increasing subscription prices for the first time in 12 years. In a recent blog post, the company revealed that the Copilot AI assistant will now be available in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote for Microsoft 365 subscribers.

The pricing for Microsoft 365 Personal has been revised to $9.99 per month and $99.99 annually, up from the previous rates of $6.99 per month and $69.99 annually. For the Microsoft 365 Family plan, which accommodates up to six users, the new rates are $12.99 monthly and $129.99 annually, an increase from $9.99 per month and $99.99 annually.

During the September quarter, Microsoft reported having 84.4 million Microsoft 365 consumer subscribers, marking a 10% year-over-year increase. This move is expected to enhance the value proposition of Microsoft 365 as it continues to integrate advanced AI capabilities.
