Apple has announced plans to release the new Powerbeats Pro 2 wireless earphones in 2025. Recent regulatory filings with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Bureau of Indian Standards confirm Apple's global launch plans. The filings reveal model numbers A3157 and A3158 for the earbuds, and A3160 for the charging case.

The Powerbeats Pro series, known for its sports-focused design, offers a secure fit with adjustable ear hooks. The new Powerbeats Pro 2 features a more vertical and slim design, as seen in promotional content featuring MLB star Shohei Ohtani. The original Powerbeats Pro has been discontinued.

Powerbeats Pro 2 will include heart rate monitoring, allowing users to connect with fitness equipment like treadmills for real-time data tracking via the iPhone Health app or other supported apps. Other features include Active Noise Cancellation, Spatial Audio, and Adaptive Audio. The earphones and charging case will come in orange, purple, black, and beige, with a USB-C port for charging.

Additional upgrades may include improved sound quality, extended battery life, and enhanced compatibility with Android devices, such as the "Find My Device" feature. Although Apple has not specified an exact release date, the regulatory filings suggest a launch in the coming months.
