This collaboration enables eligible Amazon customers to enroll in Teladoc's programs for diabetes, hypertension, prediabetes, and weight management through Amazon's health benefits connector. Following this announcement, Teladoc's stock surged nearly 9% in pre-market trading.
This partnership builds on previous collaborations between the two companies. In 2022, Teladoc revealed that U.S. patients could access some of its virtual healthcare services via Amazon's Alexa. These services provide information on common medications, prescription refills, and appointments with certain hospitals. They cater to non-emergency general medical needs, including symptoms of colds, flu, and allergies.
