The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has launched an investigation into approximately 2.6 million Tesla (TSLA, Financial) vehicles. This inquiry is in response to reports of crashes associated with a function that allows users to remotely move their cars. The NHTSA is conducting an initial evaluation of Tesla's "Smart Summon" feature following reports of four separate incidents. The feature reportedly fails to detect obstructions or parked vehicles, leaving users insufficient time to prevent collisions.
