D.E. Shaw & Co. plans to return billions of dollars to external clients following significant returns from its two major hedge funds last year. The firm's flagship multi-strategy Composite fund saw an 18% increase in 2024, while the Oculus fund, focusing on macro bets, soared by 36%, marking its largest gain since its inception 20 years ago.
