Tesla (TSLA) Begins Production at Texas Lithium Refinery

Tesla (TSLA, Financial) has announced the start of operations at its new lithium refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas. The facility recently began processing raw minerals into battery-grade lithium hydroxide. Construction of the refinery began in May 2023, with completion expected this year. The plant is designed to supply Tesla’s battery manufacturing units and is projected to produce enough refined lithium annually for one million electric vehicles.
