Apple (AAPL, Financial) has sold fewer than 500,000 units of its first head-mounted device, Vision Pro, since its launch in February. TrendForce's Vice General Manager, Qiu Yubin, noted that sales did not meet expectations, with a new generation not expected until 2026. Initially, the Vision Pro was anticipated to reach 900,000 to 1 million units annually due to Apple's strong brand and the metaverse concept. However, supply constraints limited production to 400,000-500,000 units.

In the US market, Vision Pro faces high return rates and inventory challenges. Price optimization attempts were hindered by high production costs. Future versions aim to develop both high-end and entry-level models, potentially using different display technologies.
