NVIDIA (NVDA, Financials) appointed Ellen Ochoa, former director of NASA's Johnson Space Center, to its board of directors, the multinational tech company said.
Ochoa leads the pay committee and the investment committee of Service Corporation International, and is a member of the nomination committee and the product and marketing committee of Mutual of America Financial Group, NVDA said.
With Ochoa appointed, the board of NVIDIA grows to 13 members.
NVIDIA will report third-quarter results on Nov. 20; analysts are highly anticipating the earnings report, with the company vying with Tesla (TSLA, Financials) as the biggest company in the world. NVDA stock is rated as a consensus 'buy' with no analysts advocating to sell the stock.
NVIDIA unveiled the Blackwell architecture in March 2024, bringing in the B100 and B200 datacenter accelerators. Emphasizing that Blackwell is meant for the generative AI age and trying to improve speed and efficiency in AI applications, CEO Jensen Huang said.
NVIDIA's stock performance has been impressive as of early November 2024; shares have risen by over 181% year-to-date.
The financial dynamics of the artificial intelligence industry have revolved mostly around NVIDIA. Using these GPUs as collateral, Wall Street banks have lent over $11 billion to technology businesses mostly using NVIDIA's AI processors. This funding has enabled explosive expansion in the field of artificial intelligence infrastructure.
