NVIDIA (NVDA, Financials) has rebranded its GeForce NOW Priority membership as the Performance membership, retaining the current subscription price while introducing new features.

From 1080p, the revised plan now enables streaming at up to 1440p quality and supports ultrawide monitors. Over sessions, members may also preserve in-game graphics settings including support for NVIDIA RTX capabilities in supported titles. Automatically promoted to the new Performance membership are current Priority members.

Performance members will now broadcast at up to 1440p resolution using servers run by GeForce RTX. Ultimate members still access RTX 4080-powered machines, which provide up to 4K resolution at 120 frames per second or 1080p at 240 fps for Competitive mode. Starting next year, NVIDIA will apply a 100-hour monthly gameplay restriction for Performance and Ultimate members, therefore addressing the use demands of over 94% of existing users. Up to 15 unused hours may carry over to the next month; extra hours for purchase at $2.99 for 15 Performance hours or $5.99 for 15 Ultimate hours.

For a limited while only, Day Passes are available at a 25% discount, giving consumers 24-hour access to first-rate cloud gaming. Those who buy a Day Pass may credit its worth toward a monthly subscription should they upgrade 48 hours later. Ultimate Day Passes cost $5.99; Performance Day Passes are $2.99.

These service improvements line up with significant changes in NVIDIA's stock and business performance. With a market value of $3.37 trillion, NVIDIA topped Apple (AAPL, Financials) on Nov. 4, 2024, to rank as the most valuable company worldwide. Driven by great demand for its AI chips and large investments in AI infrastructure by big technology companies, this milestone demonstrates the company's notable expansion.

Additionally, on the Dow Jones Industrial Average, effective Nov. 7, 2024, NVIDIA replaced Intel (INTC, Financials), reinforcing its industry position. This shift signals the end of Intel's 25-year index presence and reflects NVIDIA's hegemony in the AI chip space.
