Meryl Witmer shot to (even more) fame recently after being hand-picked by Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger to join the prestigious Berkshire Hathaway Board of Directors. As GuruFocus readers know, Witmer is a very seasoned and astute stock picker in her own right. Witmer, originally trained by the legendary Michael Price (Trades, Portfolio), ran a successful eponymous asset management firm before joining more legendary value investors at Eagle Capital.

Witmer is most visible as a regular member of the "Barron’s Roundtable" – a yearly event/column run by the magazine that features stock ideas from value-investing’s “hall of fame” (the column has featured the likes of Peter Lynch, Mario Gabelli (Trades, Portfolio) and Bill Gross in the past, often alongside Witmer).

The file below contains a compilation of Meryl Witmer’s stock picks from the 2002 to 2014 period. Reading through this, two things become very apparent: (1) Meryl Witmer’s stock picks on average trounce the market and (2) Meryl Witmer is smart…. scarily smart.
