Ladies and gentlemen, as Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Bayer AG, and thus, Chair of today's meeting, I call today's regular Annual Stockholders' Meeting to order.
Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to welcome you, the shareholders, their representatives, representatives from the press and all other viewers who are following us today by audio and video over the Internet, welcome to all of you. I would like to have welcomed all of you here in person at the Congress Center in Bonn, but due to the pandemic, the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not allowed to do so.
As you could see in the notice to the Annual Stockholders' Meeting, in order to avoid the health risk caused by the coronavirus and with the approval of the Supervisory Board, we decided to have this year's Annual Stockholders' Meeting as a virtual meeting, just like last year, without any physical presence of shareholders or their representatives. And due to the existing contact restrictions, we have also limited the number of participants
