While Guru Michael Price unloaded shares in global banks, department stores, drug manufacturers and insurance companies, among others, in the second quarter, he artfully sold out nine companies, demonstrating his knack for getting out on a gain. It’s no wonder that Michael F. Price is one of the richest people in the world, with a net worth of around $1.3 billion. As a legendary value investor, Price manages around $1.6 billion, through his private firm, MFP Investors LLC.

The updated portfolio of MFP Investors has 92 stocks, 10 of them new, a total value at $747 million, with a quarter-over-quarter turnover of 13%. The portfolio of MFP Investors is currently weighted with top three sectors: financial services at 33.8%, healthcare at 14.4% and consumer cyclical at 13.3%.

One Liberty Properties Inc. (OLP, Financial): Sold Out

Up 12% over 12 months, One Liberty Properties Inc. has a market cap of $344.71 million; its shares were traded at around $22.15 with a P/E ratio of 9.80.

One Liberty Properties Inc. is a self-administered and self-managed real estate investment trust, also known as a REIT. The company acquires, owns and manages a geographically portfolio of retail including furniture and office supply stores, industrial, office, flex, health and fitness and other properties, a portion of which are under long-term leases.

Imation Corporation (IMN, Financial): Sold Out

Down 28% over 12 months, Imation Corporation has a market cap of $174.48 million; its shares were traded at around $4.19 with a P/B ratio of 0.50.

Imation Corporation’s portfolio includes tiered storage and security offerings for business and products designed to manage audio and video information in the home. Imation reaches customers in more than 100 countries through a global distribution network. The company has three major product categories: traditional storage, secure and scalable storage, and audio and video information.

Guru Action: As of June 30, 2013, Price sold out his position, selling 371,927 shares at an average price of $3.92, for a gain of 6.9%. Price held for three quarters total. In the fourth quarter of 2012, he bought 658,693 shares at an average price of $4.62 per share, and lost 9.3%. In the first quarter of 2013, he gained 11.1% on 286,766 shares sold at an average price of $3.77.

Huntsman Corporation (HUN, Financial): Sold Out

Up 22% over 12 months, Huntsman Corporation has a market cap of $4.65 billion; its shares were traded at around $19.27 with a P/E ratio of 48.10.

Huntsman Corporation is a holding company for its businesses and manufacturers of differentiated organic chemical products and of inorganic chemical products. Its products comprise a range of chemicals and formulations, which it markets globally to a diversified group of consumer and industrial customers.

Guru Action: As of June 30, 2013, Price sold out his position, unloading 75,000 shares at an average price of $18.29, for a gain of 5.4%. Price held shares for five quarters, always gaining. His greatest gain of 246.6% was made on his new buy of 400,000 shares in the second quarter of 2009 when he bought at an average price of $5.56.
