General Growth Properties Inc (GGP): CEO, Director John Bucksbaum Bought 137,491 Shares


The mall operator General Growth Properties, Inc. (GGP) reported their fourth quarter income dropped by 37% to $58.7 million, or 24 cents per share. The company faced lower land sales for the quarter. Revenue was also narrowed by 4% to $928.7 million and annual revenue was reported to be $3.26 billion.


While George Soros bought 4,955 shares in the last quarter of 2007, Chris Davis reduced his GGP holdings by 69% to 3,847,526 shares. Ron Baron and Ruane Cunniff own GGP in their portfolio.


CEO, Director John Bucksbaum bought 137,491 shares of GGP stock on 2/14/08 at $36.32. Since November, other insider buys were made between $36.28 and $49.37 by CFO Bernard Freibaum, who bought a total of 103,700 shares; Director Adam S. Metz, who bought 19,000 shares; and Chief Investment Officer Joel Bayer, who bought 10,000 shares.


Also in December, Chief Corporate Development Jean Schlemmer and President & COO, Director Robert A. Michaels sold 75,000 shares and 131,900 shares, respectively around $41.

Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc. (MMC): Chairman & CEO, Marsh Daniel S Glaser Bought 66,000 Shares


The insurance brokerage firm Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. (MMC)’s fourth quarter profit plunged by 62% to $226 million or 40 cents a share due to a 12% drop in insurance rate and lower commission revenue. Also, the company faced two major expenses: $850 million fine from a legal case, and $7.2 million severance pay to their CEO Michael G. Cherkasky. For the fiscal year, MMC earned $2.47 billion, or $4.53 per share compared with a profit of $990 million or $1.76 per share from 2006.

STERIS Corporation (STE) engages in the development, manufacture, and marketing of infection prevention, contamination control, microbial reduction, and surgical and critical care support products and services. The company bolstered a 5% quarterly revenue increase as income held steady at $21.8 million or $0.34. The company recently set its regular dividend at $0.06 for the quarter.


Richard Aster Jr. and Kenneth Fisher upped their STERIS holdings in quarter of September, as George Soros sold out of his holdings in the last quarter. Edward Owens and Bruce Sherman also own STERIS shares.

Endwave Corporation (ENWV), manufacturer of radio frequency modules, increased its fourth quarter revenue by over 8% to $14.4 million. The company netted a quarterly loss of $1.1 million or $0.09 compared to a loss of $870,000 or $0.08 from a year ago. CEO Edward A. Keible stated," we are pleased to have exceeded our revenue expectations for the fourth quarter, largely as a result of higher-than-anticipated revenues from Nokia Siemens Networks. We believe this renewed strength indicates that the impact of the merger of our two largest customers is normalizing.” Endwave recently finished the repurchase in an 80% stake of Wood River shares, or 2.5 million shares.


Mid-February, CEO and President, Director Edward A. Keible bought 26,415 at $7. Since November of 2007, CEO Keible has purchased a total of 41,743 shares between $5.84 and $7.40. Endwave Corp. has a market cap of $80.39 million; its shares were traded at around $7.01 with P/S ratio of 1.39.
