Belo Corp (BLC, Financial)

BELO CORPORATION is the largest pure-play publicly-traded television station company in the nation. Belo Corp has a market cap of $748.6 million; its shares were traded at around $7.22 with a P/E ratio of 13.88 and P/S ratio of 1.15. On March 1st the company increased its quarterly dividend 60% to $0.08 per share. The dividend is payable on June 1, 2012, to shareholders of record on May 11, 2012 for each outstanding share of Series A common stock and Series B common stock. The yield based on the new payout is 4.4%.

Belo Corp. reported fourth quarter and full year 2011 net earnings per share of $0.29 and $0.55, respectively, compared to $0.38 and $0.83, respectively, for fourth quarter and full year 2010. Income from continuing operations attributable to Walmart was $15.8 billion, a 2.7 percent increase from $15.4 billion last year.
