This is the group of companies who raised their dividend during the week: Koppers Holdings, Bank of Kentucky Financial, Assured Guaranty, Scana Corp. and Emclair Financial Corp.


Koppers Holdings (KOP, Financial)


Koppers Holdings Inc. is a global integrated producer of carbon compounds and treated wood products. Koppers Holdings has a market cap of $790.95 million; its shares were traded at around $38.39 with a P/E ratio of 13.66 and P/S ratio of 0.64. On Feb. 16, the company increased it quarterly dividend 9% to $0.24 per share. The dividend is payable April 9, 2012, to stockholders of record as of the close of business on Feb. 28, 2012. The yield based on the new payout is 2.6%.


Koppers Holdings Inc. announced results for its fiscal 2011 fourth quarter. Consolidated sales of $385.2 million for the fourth quarter of 2011 were 25%, or $77.4 million higher than sales in the prior year quarter. The net loss attributable to Koppers for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2011, was $14.2 million, or $0.69 per diluted share as compared to net income attributable to Koppers of $5.1 million, or $0.25 per diluted share in the fourth quarter of 2010.
