This is the group of companies who raised their dividend during the week were: United Parcel Service Inc., Occidental Petroleum Corp., 3m Co., Lorillard, Dr. Pepper Snapple Group.


United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS, Financial)


United Parcel Service Inc. is the world's largest express carrier, the world's largest package delivery company and a global provider of specialized transportation and logistics services. United Parcel Service, Inc. has a market cap of $74.58 billion; its shares were traded at around $76.69 with a P/E ratio of 18.1 and P/S ratio of 1.4. On February 9th the company increased its quarterly dividend 9.6% to $0.57 per share. The dividend is payable March 7, 2012, to shareholders of record on Feb. 21, 2012. The yield based on the new payout is 3.0%.


UPS announced fourth quarter 2011 adjusted diluted earnings per share of $1.28, a 21% improvement over the prior-year period. Total revenue increased 6% to $14.2 billion and adjusted operating profit climbed 17% to more than $2 billion.

Earnings were $1.35 per share, an increase of 5.5 percent versus the fourth quarter of 2010. The company generated $1.2 billion in free cash flow during the quarter, equal to 128 percent of net income.
