The Korea Fund, Inc. Announces Proposed Changes to Investment Manager and Administrator of the Fund

The Korea Fund, Inc. (NYSE:KF, Financial) (the “Fund”) announced today that it is pursuing arrangements with JPMorgan Asset Management (Asia Pacific) Limited (“JPMorgan”) to serve as investment manager and administrator of the Fund. This follows a search process conducted by the Fund’s Board in light of Allianz Global Investors U.S. LLC’s decision to transition away from the business of serving as sponsor/administrator of U.S. registered open- and closed-end funds. The change would result in the transition of the Fund’s day-to-day portfolio management, administration, fund accounting, custody and other services to JPMorgan.
